Our Trip to the Marae

On Tuesday last week the whole Junior Syndicate went on a trip to the marae on Hutt Road. This marae is of special significance to Atarau, as he is the direct descendant of the Maori who was a chief at the time when pakeha first came to Wellington.
Here are a few of the photos that were taken on the day.

Atarau wrote about the experience:
Wow, that was my second time at the Marae. We got wet because we walked there. The girls sat on their side and the boys  sat normally with their legs crossed. My mum was there. Neavin and Liz were there too and my favourite part was sitting on the paepae. I had a great time at the Marae. Then we had morning tea and I ate cookies. Then we did acting because Neavin told us a story. We put our feet together and then our hands together. They were Tane, Rangi and Papa.
