More Adjectives!
Over the past week we have read a cool book called, "The Chimpanzees of Happytown." After reading this book the children used their imaginations to create a building to go in our own Happytown. We then drew flowers and chimps to add to our mural. After that we brainstormed all the adjectives we could think of to add to our mural. The result was stunning.
We also wrote some stories about the book- either a retell or a slight change to the story.
Water, water everywhere?
The Junior syndicate have been studying water. Last week during Discovery Time the children made boats out of paper or wood and tried them out to see if they would sink or float.
They were all very productive and made some great little boats. They needed to think about the materials they used and whether they would be too heavy, too narrow or how waterproof they were.

New Classroom Displays
Recently, Room 7 has been working at adding some adjectives to their stories. Many of the children were unaware of what an adjective was. So, we drew some pictures in pairs and labelled them using some adjectives to decribe them. Here is our display!
As part of our study into what a Marae was, the children drew their own Maraes.
